Camera requirement (DORI / OODPCVS)

The minimum resolution and field of view the camera must have to meet, in this zone, the quality level the client needs.

How it is calculated

  1. Pick the standard and, within it, the operational level you need. Each level has a minimum density in pixels per metre set by the corresponding edition of IEC/EN 62676-4.
  2. Minimum resolution is that density times the width to cover: resolution = density × width. Distance does not enter the resolution calculation — it enters the choice of optics, through the HFOV. Two cameras at different distances covering the same width need the same resolution, but different lenses.
  3. Maximum field of view comes from geometry: HFOV = 2 · atan(width ÷ (2 × distance)). Resolution and HFOV form the vendor-neutral requirement any supplier can answer.

A decision-support estimate. For full sizing — on the real floor plan, both standards in parallel, theoretical and corrected, and the vendor-neutral spec — use B-PLAN.
